Spoiler Alert!!
Updates and new faces, by character:
Michael Scofield:
Last we saw Michael, he was walking down the hallway of Sona. With Episode 3.01, Michael soon discovers that he was purposely placed in Sona to engineer another daring and seemingly impossible prison break - this time in order to free Whistler. Michael learns that everyone is looking for Whistler, and that he may even have escaped
Lincoln Burrows:
Lincoln is searching for a missing Sara and receives troubling news about LJ. Lincoln approaches someone at the American Embassy, begging the guy to help out Michael… but has to return the next morning to converse with the consul. Lincoln also visits Sona to talk to Michael through the fence and tells him that he’ll be transferred soon.
Brad Bellick:
Bellick is in Sona as well. He is having a hard time with some other inmates who make him drink in a puddle when he says he is thirsty. Sapo and Bellick are constantly tortured. When they go to the mess, they are told they cannot eat.
Alexander Mahone:
Another Sona inmate, Mahone overhears Michael as he searches for more info on Whistler. Mahone learns from McGrady that whoever finds Whistler and kills him is as good as a free man.
Fernando Sucre:
Sucre continues to search for Maricruz.
Lechero:
Vicious drug kingpin that rules over Sona. After riots the previous year, Sona was left without guards. Lechero rose over the others and has better living conditions than the other inmates.
James Whistler:
A mysterious fellow inmate hiding within the prison’s sewer system. He was arrested for having killed the Mayor’s son during a bar fight.
Sapo:
Suffers bad treatment with Bellick.
McGrady:
16-year-old Panamanian kid, in prison. He wears a basketball jersey with McGrady on the back, hence the nickname. He latches on to Michael as he is fascinated with all things American.
Betty Crocker:
A female operative for a government conspiracy group. She talks to Lincoln in a bar. She says “We have a lot to discuss. Specifically your brother.” She then gives him an iPod.
Sona:
Sona (inspired by the actual Carandiru Prison in Brazil) is unlike any American prison. A murderous riot among the inmates has driven all guards and authorities from the premises, leaving the prison with its own warped hierarchy and code of ethics.
