She unfurls the tarp, starts placing it around LJ.

LJ
What are you doing?

She doesn’t answer. From her bag, she removes a bottle of bleach and a big ass knife.

LJ (Cont)
What the hell is going on?

Susan picks up the knife.

Susan B.
Your dad tried to be a hero.

LJ
Stop! Please!

Though Susan ignores his pleas, she’s not relishing this.

SUSAN B.
Once the spinal cord is cut and the nerve endings are severed, you won’t feel anything.

Susan brings the knife up. LJ is paralyzed with fear.

Just then, the phone rings.

EXT. SIDE OF ROAD - DAY 7

Lincoln is pacing with his cell phone. The other side picks up.

LINCOLN
I’m sorry I –

LJ
They’re going to kill me, Dad!

LINCOLN
LJ?

LJ
They’ve got a knife to my throat and –

Silence. Lincoln is understandably on edge.

LINCOLN
LJ! LJ!

Nothing on the other side. Did Susan just kill LJ?
